CarbonSim: Hands-on Carbon Trading at Environmental Defense Fund (EDF)

  • EDF Office 123 Mission Street San Francisco, CA, 94105 United States (map)

Much as the popular game SimCity lets you see what might happen if you were an urban planner, EDF’s own CarbonSim will let you experience what it’s like to participate in a carbon emissions trading system (ETS) like those EDF has helped develop for California and China. Carbon markets are one of the most effective ways to reduce carbon emissions, but few people really understand how these important policy mechanisms work.

Join EDF for a hands-on experience with a tool used to train industry leaders and policymakers on how to design and participate in an effective market. Space is limited, so please register above to reserve your place for this free event at EDF’s SF office on Wednesday evening, March 20, at 6:15 pm. Please bring your laptop or tablet and a power cord.

Wine and light hors d’oeuvres will be served. This is part of a series of events organized through the EDF Ambassador Program, which provides members a forum to learn, discuss, and broaden the conversation around issues related to EDF’s mission.

If you have any questions please contact Alysa Perez at aperez@edf.org.
