Carbon Forum North America 2016

Date: Thursday, September 22, 2016
Time: 9am - 5:30pm
Location: 885 Third Avenue, New York, NY

IETA’s returning to New York City to host Carbon Forum North America 2016 during Climate Week. CFNA’s high-level agenda features market and policy insights on the challenges and opportunities arising from climate initiatives underway in North America and on the international stage.

At their annual North American Leaders Summit, the leaders of the United States, Canada, and Mexico announced a new North American Climate, Clean Energy, and Environment Partnership, which details a number of new trilateral efforts they intend to undertake.  This North American climate cooperation has the potential to be an early opportunity to highlight the myriad of opportunities enabled through international cooperation provisions within Article 6 of the Paris Agreement.

Carbon Forum North America 2016 will highlight these multi-national efforts and how they will influence and be influenced by the international Paris climate agreement.  The program will then zoom in further to discuss the current and proposed policies in each country.  Finally, we will zoom in further to consider various state, provincial, and regional climate efforts.
