Business Positioning on Carbon Pricing Mechanisms in Brazil
The Business Climate Initiative (IEC) launched its "Business Positioning on Carbon Pricing in Brazil" (Posicionamento Empresarial sobre Precificação de Carbono no Brasil)
With the collective effort of several private sector organizations, in dialogue with civil society and government, IEC presented the document, which discusses the importance of thinking strategically about mechanisms and forms of carbon pricing in Brazil and aims to promote the decarbonization of the economy with the lowest possible cost to society, while also increasing the competitiveness of companies. The IEC joins the Ethos Institute - a CPLC partner-, the Brazilian Business Council for Sustainable Development (Cebds), the Carbon Disclosure Project (CDP), the Sustainability Studies Center of the Getulio Vargas Foundation (GVces), the Brazilian Network of the United Nations Global Compact and Envolverde. The executive secretariat of the IEC is shared between Ethos and Cebds. GVces coordinates the initiative's pricing group.
